The Mojave Desert occupies a significant portion of Southern California, as well as parts of Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. It is home to the Mojave National Preserve, Joshua Tree National Park, and the lowest, hottest place in North America: Death Valley.

The Joshua tree is found in no other place in the world. It is a desert of temperature extremes and two distinct seasons. Like all deserts in general, it is known for its summer heat, however, wintertime cold does not escape the Mojave.

Upon first glance there doesn’t seem to be much wildlife. Take a closer look and you will find large, diverse populations thriving in this desert. If you ever get the chance to visit this beautiful oasis, Earth’s Revolution encourages you to do so. Bring a lot of water and watch out for snakes!
